Product Description
Ifosfamide is a nitrogen mustard alkylating agent used in the treatment of variety of cancer. The chemotherapy cancer drug is commonly used for the treatment of testicular cancer, breast cancer, lymphoma (non-Hodgkin), soft tissue sarcoma, osteogenic sarcoma etc. Ifosfamide is often used in combination with Mesna to avoid internal bleeding in the patient.
Dosage : Ifosfamide 500mg, Ifosfamide 1000mg, Ifosfamide 2000mg, Ifosfamide 3000mg
How it is Administered
- The drug may be injected directly into the veins using fine tube (Cannula) inserted into the veins of the arms
- Through a central line in form of drip, which is injected under the skin into a vein near the collarbone
- Using a PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter) line, which is inserted into a vein in the crook of your arm
Side Effects
- Lowered resistance to infection
- Bruising or bleeding
- Anemia (low number of red blood cells)
- Feeling sick (nausea) and vomiting
- Hair loss
- Tiredness and feeling weak
- Irritation of the bladder
- Changes to nails
